filled water heater and purged all the air from the lines before i turned the power on, i've pressed the reset button a half a million times, i called it ever name i could think of and still nothing. i also shut the power off and upped the temp, when that didn't work i move it to a different slot in the breaker box. i even tried a different breaker.
ecectrical isn't my department i checked each leg not both at the same time each leg read 126. how am i suppose to check it
have you used a multi meter to see if you have 240 volts going into and receiving 240 volts? what are the thermostats setting on take a screw driver and adjust them til you here them click in and then listen for the hiss, that will tell you its heating, but make sure your getting 240 volts not 120 volts on each leg, test the wiring using the tester across both wires live, after all all you have to check is the thermostats and elements, not saying your dumb or anything like that but its easy to check the wiring the wrong way and think your doing it the correct way,did you fill the tank prior to turning on the power,i know you did but thought i'd ask, cause if you powered it up first as soon as the water hit those hot elements they fried.just asking.
Does anyone have any experience with or opinions about Rinnai Natural Gas tankless hot water heater?
Do they work efficiently, save money, etc.?
Great product! However, make sure that you get a big enough one to run your washer, dishwasher, shower, and sinks at the same time. Most people that install this system have to install 2 units. It can get costly and tales a long time to re-coupe your expense.
If money is an; issue, I would recommend replacing your existing water heater with a highly rated Energy Star Water heater but also install the correct size water heater jacket.
The jacket will save an additional $5-$12 Per month and pay for itself in about 6 months.
